Maxine's Story


My name is Maxine Poulin. I am a therapist with the help of Sasha, my certified therapy dog, and Juanita, the therapy bunny.

 I have 7 years experience working as a Counsellor in both Canada and Europe.

I conducted a Master's Degree of Psychology in France, the country where I was born and raised. I graduated in 2015, and moved to Alberta in 2017. Sasha and I got certified therapy dog in 2017.

I specialize in life transitions and help individuals dealing with anxiety and depression. I feel committed in helping pre-adolescent and teenagers dealing with anxiety, depression and defiant disorders.

I have a passion for my profession, and helping others feel powerful and free from mental blockage is my priority.

I offer services in both French and English.

Angela's story. 

Are you finding yourself stuck in life? Do you catch yourself avoiding your inner thoughts? My goal is to help adults identify the source of problems and help with moving forward.


I focus on self approval and self acceptance in order to open the door to who you truly are. I specialize in working with adults going through family challenges, and individuals dealing with work related issues. Whether you are going through burn out, anxiety or conflicts, I can help you manage and feel less submerged.

I am currently accepting new clients and offer online and in-person sessions. I have 18 years of experience working with individuals and families in various capacities and hold a Masters of Arts Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).

You deserve the best, but where do you start ? My training with Step Family Foundation will enable me to teach you skills and tools to face anxiety and depression. My vision is tailored specifically to help individuals deal with issues at home, the workplace or both. I can help you transform burn out into feeling heard, respected and appreciated.
